【摘要】:Hydrogensulfideisanodoroussubstancewhichisoffensiveevenatlowconcentrationsintheatmosphereandtoxicathigherlevels.Itmaybeaproductofbiologicalprocessesintheabsenceofoxygen,asmayoccurinmunicipalgarbagelandfills.Itisemittedfromgeothermalsources,occursinoilandgas,andmaybeemittedfromindustrialprocesses.Measurementisrequiredforairpollutionstudies,forpollutioncontrol,andforplumecharacterization.Equipmentdescribedissuitableforfixedsiteorformobilemonitoring.1.1Thistestmethodcoverstheautomaticcontinuousdeterminationofhydrogensulfide(H2S)intheatmosphereoringaseoussamplesintherangefromonepartperbillionbyvolume(1ppb/v)to3000ppb/v.Informationobtainedmaybeusedforair-pollutionstudiesandtomonitorforemissionsources.1.2Therangemaybeextendedbyappropriatedilutiontechniquesorbyequipmentmodification.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.(See6.2,6.3,and6.4forspecificsafetyprecautionarystatements.)
